EPAC Group Acquires Oliver’s & Planck’s Tavern
YARMOUTH PORT, Mass. — August 1, 2022 — EPAC Group announced the acquisition of Oliver’s & Planck’s Tavern, a longstanding Cape Cod restaurant founded by the Ormon brothers in 1983, from longtime owner Dale Ormon.
For EPAC Group and the Coelho family, the acquisition represents far more than a business transaction. Oliver’s has been part of the family’s story and a source of opportunity and livelihood for decades.
Over the years, multiple generations of the Coelho family have worked at Oliver’s, including mothers, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. For many, the restaurant provided not only a job, but an opportunity to work, grow, support their families, and establish themselves on Cape Cod.
Among them was Wanderson Coelho, now Operating Partner of EPAC Group, who began working at Oliver’s in 2005 as a prep cook. Over the years, Wanderson worked his way through the business, developing a deep understanding of its operations, its people, its guests, and the important role Oliver’s plays in the community.
“Oliver’s means much more to our family than the acquisition of a restaurant,” said Patrick Coelho, Managing Partner of EPAC Group. “For decades, it provided members of our family with jobs, income, and opportunity. My mother worked here. Our siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins worked here. Wanderson started here as a prep cook in 2005. To go from a family that earned a living working within this business to having the opportunity and responsibility to become its next owners is incredibly meaningful to us.”
Under the stewardship of the Ormon family and longtime owner Dale Ormon, Oliver’s & Planck’s Tavern became a familiar destination for generations of Cape Cod residents and visitors. EPAC Group recognizes that acquiring a business with decades of history carries a responsibility to the people who built it, the employees who sustain it, and the community that has supported it.
